The Academy Awards are on, this Sunday, at 5:00 here in the Pacific Northwest!! So lets get caught up on seeing the pictures that will be in the thick of it, starting with Best Picture!
First, Poor Things, the 2023 sci fi fantasy nominated for 11 Oscars, is finally available on Hulu. And in addition to being nominated for Best Picture, Emma Stone is also nominated for Best Actress for her work here, along with Mark Ruffalo getting the nod for Best Actor. You can find it here.
Maestro, Bradley Cooper‘s imaginative biopic about famed conductor Leonard Bernstein, is, of course , available on Netflix, and aside from its Best Pic nomination, Cooper, and his co-star Carey Mulligan are also nominated for Best Actor, as well as Cooper’s nod for Best Director. Past Lives, the wonderful new drama from Greta Lee, is now available on Paramount+, and you can get a free 7 day trial of Paramount+ here.
The Zone of Interest is not yet available streaming on a platform, but you can buy it on Apple tv+ or Google Play .
Oppenheimer, the Christopher Nolan blockbuster nominated for 13 Oscars, is streaming on Peacock, and can be found here.
The Holdovers, nominated for 5 Oscars, including Best Pic, and Best Actor for Paul Giamatti, is streaming on Peacock, and you can stream it here.
Anatomy of a Fall, nominated for Best Picture, and nominated for 4 others, including Best Actress, is not yet available for streaming. But it will be available March 22, on Hulu. Huzzah.
And Killers of the Flower Moon, nominated for 10 Oscars, is available on Apple+ tv, including Best Picture, Best Director for Scorsese, and Best Actress for my favorite Award performance by Lily Gladstone. And you can get a 7-day free trial of that, here.
