It’s getting easier and easier to cut the cord and not miss a thing, and today I’m dealing with the Big Three providers of Live TV and cable today. Sling TV offers the lowest prices right now, starting at $20 a month, so I went with that. You can get either Sling Orange or Sling Blue, both of which will provide you with some sports channels(but not all) and you can switch with the seasons, which was important to me during Baseball playoffs last year, and you can add on packages, from Sports Extra, to Hollywood Extra, which offers TCM, a MUST in my book, for movie lovers. Playstation Vue is hot right now, with the main reason being their cloud DVR, and if you go with their Ultra Slim package, far too expensive for me, at $69.99 a month, you get HBO and tons of Sports Channels (ESPN 1 2 &3, Fox 1 &2) and Showtime. And, a nice surprise is you don’t have to have a Playstation 3 or 4 to stream Playstation Vue any more. But Playstation’s lowest is $35 a month, and doesn’t offer as much as Sling, for the price. And Directv Now has great offerings too, for $60 a month, you can get 100+ channels, and for $70, you can get a fair number of Sports channels, including MLB, but no cloud DVR, and it’s too rich for my blood anyway, with it’s cheapest being $35 a month, so you won’t be hearing too much about that from me. And new avenues are opening up all the time, like Hulu with Live TV, and YouTube TV, which will become more available in more areas as 2017 goes on. Keep an eye out!
