Yes, starting in January, Amazon Prime is raising their monthly rate from 10.99 to 12.99! They sent out the notification email today, giving no obvious reason for the rate increase. So that will mean we monthly members will actually be paying nearly $156 per year! So, for low-income customers this comes as a blow. The one option is, if you are on government assistance and are willing to prove it, you can get Amazon Prime for $5.99 a month. Otherwise, beware the Amazon Prime bill of January!
