Yes, to celebrate Martin Scorcese‘s new production The Irishman, starring Robert DeNiro and coming sometime in the fall, Netflix is now offering some of Scorcese‘s best early works. There’s Mean Streets, from 1973, starring Harvey Keitel and Robert DeNiro as second-rate hoodlums in Little Italy, Taxi Driver, the masterpiece with DeNiro, Jody Foster and Cybil Shepherd, and The Aviator, the biopic about Howard Hughes starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett and John C. Reilly that won five Academy Awards, including Best Director. And, of course, Netflix has Scorcese’s movie about Bob Dylan’s 1975 tour Rolling Thunder Revue, which I already recommended in this blog, a couple of weeks ago. So if you love Scorcese now and haven’t seen his early stuff, now is your chance. And, there may be more Scorcese movies added to Netflix, including Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino, so stay tuned!
