Yes, it’s that time again, the weekend, and time to review the best new movies and television shows added online this week, to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. And there are some exciting new adds this week, so let’s get started.
HULU
Hulu has few big titles added this week, but they do offer Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, a 2025 sci-fi comedy. Sam Rockwell(!) stars, here, as an unnamed man, who storms into a crowded diner, warning of the end of the world. But he also tells the customers they are the only ones who can save it with him, from AI, that will bring the world’s disastrous end. And, though they are a hard sell, the diners eventually follows him on a riotous and perilous journey to save the world. Juno Temple, Haley Lu Richardson, Zazie Beetz, and Michael Peña also star, and Gore Verbinski directed. And this movie won Best Film at the 2026 Taormina International Film Festival, and gets an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Amy Nicholson of the Los Angeles Times said “so intricate and angry — and so shamelessly ambitious — you can’t believe someone in today’s Hollywood was willing to put up the money to get it made.” So I’m watching. Hulu has also added Never Change!, a 2026 comedy. Here, a group of thirty-somethings are forced to return to North Meadows High to finish their senior year. So, adults like local anchor Katie Cartwright (Sofia Black-D’Elia) and Amelia Nadler (Jo Firestone), have to uproot their lives, and return to the ignominious world of high school. And though the principal (Ana Gasteyer!)promises it will just be two weeks, people soon find themselves having to endure the humiliation and chaos they thought they had escaped, years ago. Carmen Christopher, John Reynolds, Gary Richardson and Marty Schousboe directs. And this movie premiered at the Tribeca Festival, but gets only an 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, Craig D. Lindsey ofRogerEbert.com said “while I found ‘Never Change!’ to be a baffling mess, I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes the ‘Wet Hot American Summer‘ of the Gen Alpha crowd years from now.” You decide. Luckily, Hulu also offers Black Patriots: Heroes of the Revolution, a 2022 docu-series from the History channel. Here, best-selling author and basketball phenom Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tells the story of different black Americans who fought for independence in this country. Jyllian Gunther directs this, and two other chapters in this series- Black Patriots: Heroes of the Civil War, and Black Patriots: Buffalo Soldiers- that get an incredible 7.8/10 on IMDb. So, though I can as yet, find no online reviews, I’m watching. And, finally, Hulu has added The Seasons, a 2026 drama series. This finds American aspiring banker Cola Pierce (Jessie Mei Li), moving to Hong Kong, and anxious to gain entry to high society there. Toby Stephens(!), Chris Pang, Kôki, Xyza Cada and Justin Chien also star, and there are 6 episodes available for streaming now. And this series gets an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter says a “little bit twisty, a little bit funny and ultimately so frothy it’ll disappear from memory faster than bubbles from a champagne coupe, this… may not be your next obsession. But under the right circumstances, it could be an ideal distraction” And I’m tuning in.
