Yes, it’s that time again, the weekend, and time to review the best new movies and television shows added online this week, to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. And there are some exciting new adds this week, so let’s get started
HULU
Hulu has no big titles added this week, but they do have Redux Redux, a 2025 sci-fi thriller. Here, Irene Kelly (Michaela McManus) repeatedly travels to different parallel universes, hoping to find her daughter still alive. But when she doesn’t, she ends up killing her daughter’s murderer, Neville, instead. As her ife devolves into this repeated ritual killing, Irene begins to sink into a more brutal life. Until she meets Mia, another captive of Neville‘s, who is still alive, and needs Irene‘s help. Stella Marcus, Jeremy Holm, Jim Cummings, Taylor Misiak also star, and Kevin McManus and Matthew McManus co-direct. And this movie gets an incredible 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Meagan Navarro of Bloody Disgusting said “slickly directed and cleverly told, Redux Redux makes for a dread-soaked and unpredictable surprise of an indie sci-fi thriller.” So I’m tuning in. Hulu has also added The Secrets We Keep, a 2020 dramatic thriller. This finds Maja Reid(Noomi Rapace), a Romanian immigrant trying to build a new life for herself in post-World War II America, while trying to escape the trauma of WWII. Living with her husband, Lewis(Chris Messina), and son, Maja works to adjust to a normal life in a quiet town, though haunted by nightmares. But then she sees a man, Thomas, in the park, whom she recognizes as a Nazi who attacked her house, and murdered several during the war. So she hits him on the head, puts him in the trunk of her car, and takes him home. When she informs Lewis of her experiences, and tells him she has the man in their basement, he is understandably shocked. But as Thomas continues to deny everything Maja accuses him of, Lewis begins to wonder whether he can trsut his wife’s memory. And as the police search for Thomas, they begin to zero in on the Reid house. Joel Kinnaman, Jackson Vincent, and Amy Seimetz also star, and Yuval Adler directed. And this movie gets a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Leslie Felperin of the Guardian called it ” an engaging if pulpy drama.” So I’m watching. Hulu also offers Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert, a 2026 music documentary. This follows the legendary singer/songwriter Paul Simon as he readies for his concert in McCaw Hall, Seattle, after a seven year hiatus. Here, Simon discusses the loss of hearing in his left ear, that caused him to stop performing, until a new quieter way of performing was conceptualized, bringing this concert into being. So, we get to hear Simon perform many new songs from his new Seven Psalms album, while also including many classics like “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “The Boxer”, and “Graceland.” But this is also a celebration of the joy to be found in making music again, after his painful absence, And this doc, directed by Joel Gallen, gets a phenomenal 8.2/10 on IMDb, so, though I can find no online reviews, I’m watching. And, finally, Hulu has added The Husband, a 2026 K-drama thriller series. This follows Dr. Kang Tae Ju(Namkoong Min), once a neurosurgeon, now a hospital director, who finds his wife Ko Se-yun(Lee Seol)has been kidnapped, just before their planned divorce. As authorities bring Tae Ju in for questioning, suspecting he already killed his wife, the kidnappers contact him, demanding he meet with them. So Tae Ju must go on the run, to save his wife and himself. Kim Dae-myung, Lee Sang-hee, and Park Byung-hun also star, and there are 2 episodes available now, with 10 more to come. And this series gets an alarming 7.9/10 on IMDb, and Taniya CJ of Leisure Byte calls it “twisted and thrilling.” So I’m definitely tuning in.
NETFLIX
Netflix has some huge adds this week, starting with Hamnet, the 2025 award-winning historical drama. Based on the 2020 best-selling novel of the same name by Maggie O’Farrell, this tells of the early married life of William Shakespeare(Paul Mescal!) and his wife, Agnes (Jessie Buckley!), as they wed despite the disapproval of Shakespeare‘s mother, Mary (Emily Watson!). As Shakespeare‘s early work bring him success, the family grows with three children, when they suddenly lose their only son, Hamnet(Jacobi Jupe) to the plague. As they are crushed by that loss, the family is thrown into chaos, with the play Hamlet resulting from their pain. Zac Wishar, Joe Alwyn and Faith Delaney also star, and Chloe Zhao directed. And this movie premiered at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival in 2025, and went on to win numerous awards, including Best Feature Film at the BFI London Film Festival, Best Actress for Buckley, Best Director for Zhao, and Best Drama at the 2026 Satellite Awards, and a Best Actress Oscar for Jesse Buckley at the 2026 Academy Awards. And it gets an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 7.6/10 on IMDb. And John Nugent of Empire Mag said “with strong performances in service to a clear, confident vision from Chloé Zhao, this is a wrenching contemplation of the “undiscovered country” of death and grief.” And I’m definitely watching. Netflix has also added Little House on the Prairie, it’s 2026 drama series. This is based on the Little House series of books, by Laura Ingalls Wilder, of course, telling the story of the Ingalls family as they try to make a new home in the west. As Laura(Alice Halsey), father Charles (Luke Bracey), mother Caroline (Crosby Fitzgerald) and big sister Mary (Skywalker Hughes) struggle to survive in their new environment, they meet up with a more varied cast of characters than the 70′s show, including Native and Black Americans. In fact, Laura manages to get into trouble and find joy with her new best friend, Eagle (Wren Zhawenim Gotts), an Osage neighbor. Warren Christie, Jocko Sims, Meegwun Fairbrother and Barrett Doss also star, and there are 8 episodes available now. And this series gets a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Lacy Baugher of RogerEbert.com calling it “a pleasant enough eight-episode drama that more than looks the part, without ever really challenging its audience or complicating its own depiction of life on the American frontier all that much.” But a bit too bland for me. Luckily, Netflix also offers Gurthukosthunnayi, a 2026 Indian comedy series. Here, Santosh(Viraj Ashwin) is set to marry his childhood sweetheart, Vaishali (Yashashree Rao), having finally won the approval of her father, (and Santosh’s former principal) Raghunath(Priyadarshini Ram). But then Santosh is in a car accident, and his head injuries result in the loss of his long term memory, including Vaishali. So as his friends attempt to hide his problems from everyone, including his betrothed and her father, they try desperately to jog his memory, and save his upcoming marriage. Viva Raghav, Godavari Gopi, and Pavan Sidhu also star, and there are 7 episodes available now. And this series gets an astonishing 9.4/10 on IMDb, and OTT Release calls it “a simple, feel-good series that brings back memories.” So I’m tuning in. Netflix has also added I’m Not Afraid, a 2026 Mexican drama series. This takes place in 1982 Veracruz, with 10 year-old Miguel(Aldo Emiliano Navarro) dared to go into a deserted house by his friends. When he finally dares to go, he makes a shocking find inside, with a young boy, Felipe, bound inside. Convinced there’s something wrong, Miguel returns, and soon tells his friends. And together, they are determined to free Miguel and set things right, even if they might be afraid. Luis Alberti, Fátima Molina, Humberto Busto, Nora Huerta and Yoshira Escárrega, also star, and there are 6 episodes available for streaming now. And this series gets a smashing 7.3/10 on IMDb, and Archi Sengupta of Leisure Byte calls it “an arresting watch..” adding it’s “a moving showcase of friendship and camaraderie and how greed makes people make terrible mistakes.” So I’m watching. And, finally, Netflix has added The Apartment Job, a 2026 K-drama comedy/thriller series. Here, gangster Hae Gang(Ji Sung) finds himself in desperate need of cash, and so he run for apartment residents’ association president. If he wins the election, he can help himself to the hefty amount of cash in the building’s repair fund, enough to save his friend from the mob holding him for ransom. But then, he hears the horror stories of the residents at the complex, and finds himself fighting the corruption that grips the building, instead. Ha Yoon-kyoung, Park Byung-eun, Moon So-ri, Kim Won-hae, and Jeong Soon-won also star, and there is one episode available now, with eleven more to come. And this series gets a whopping 9.2/10 on IMDb, and the Korea Times says it “showcases hilarious teamwork from ‘fake family.'” And I’m tuning in.
AMAZON
Amazon has only one add this week, Boulevard, a 2026 romantic drama. This finds Hasley Weigel(Eve Ryan), the new girl at the Sidney Institute making a few friends and even kindles a relationship with Matt (Biel Antón). But as they two start to date, Halsey runs into Luke Howland(Mikel Niso), the noted bad boy at school. And as she’s torn between the two, the passion heats up, and jealousy erupts between the two guys. Esther Acebo, Ainara Helguera and Enzo Oliveralso star, and Sonia Méndez directs. But this movie gets only a 4.9/10 on IMDb, and Carla Hay of Culture Mix calls it “a cliché-ridden teen drama about a ‘good girl’ who falls for a ‘bad boy’ and gets caught up in a toxic love triangle. The movie problematically mishandles drug addiction issues in a romance.” Definitely not for me. Amazon has also added The Loyalty Game, a 2026 Filipino psychological drama series. Here, when Ana(Janine Gutierrez) the suspicious behavior of her husband Ben(Jericho Rosales), she reluctantly decide to hire an agency of loyalty testers. They will have a woman approach Ben, and make a pass, and take a picture if he is unfaithful. But suspicions grip the couple, and lingering fears of infidelity and distrust erode their relationship. Charlie Dizon, Sofia Andres, Yassi Pressman, Maika Rivera, Yen Santos, Elisse Joson, and Kira Balinger also star, and there are 4 episodes available now, with 10 more to come. And this series gets but a 5.4/10 on IMDb, and Archi Sengupta of Leisure Byte calls it “this one is going to be a slow-burn, so that adds a bit of complexity to everything. Overall, one can only wait and watch!” And new adds are few this week, so it’s on my list. And, finally, Amazon offers Payback: Money and Power, a 2023 K-drama series. This finds the wealthy Eun Young (Lee Sun-kyun), an ex-trader, returning from his self-exile in Mongolia, after the death of a benefactor. He then decides to work with his nephew, junior prosecutor Jang Tae-chun (Kang You-seok) and Park Jun-kyeong (Moon Chae-won) to right the wrongs that brought about that death. But in his efforts to bring down the powerful, he puts his own life, and those of his loved ones, in danger. Lee Sun-kyun, Moon Chae-won, Kang You-seok, and Park Hoon also star, and there are 12 episodes available now. And this series gets an impressive 7.3/10 on IMDb, and NoSleep4Drama calls it “worth the watch!” So I’m tuning in.
So sit back and binge this weekend, on classics, old and new, on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Enjoy!
