Yes, it’s that time again, the weekend, and time to review the best new movies and television shows added online this week, to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. And there are some exciting new adds this week, so let’s get started.

In a week of very few adds, Hulu‘s season 2 of Deli Boys, a 2026 comedy series, stands out. This seasons finds brothers Mir (Asif Ali) and Raj Dar (Saagar Shaikh) having dealt with the shock of their father’s death and the discovery of his thriving coke business. Now they have to find a money launderer to handle their ill gotten gains. And when they decide upon Max Sugar (Fred Armisen!), that becomes problematic, when an ambitious politician set his sights on ending Sugar’s criminal reign. Add to the Raj‘s being framed for murder, and the brothers may be in trouble so deep that even their indefatigable aunt Lucky(Poorna Jagannathan) may not be able to save them. Alfie Fuller, Brian George and Kumail Nanjiani(!) also star, and there are 6 episodes available now. and this series gets an incredible 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Nandini Balial of RogerEbert.com says “the result is rich, joyous, and one of the funniest shows of the year.” So I’m definitely tuning in. Here, when a blind 15 year-old girl, Sara Mohammed(Anaswara Rajan) is raped, by Michael, the son of an influential family, former lawyer Vijayamohan(Mohanlal), is recommended as her lawyer. But Vijayamohan’s legal nemesis Rajashekar, has been hired as Michael‘s lawyer, and will stoop to any depth to get his client off, including character assassination and actual evidence tampering. And it gets an outstanding 7.5/10 on IMDb, and Anna Mathews of the Times of India called it a “superb legal drama” And, since the new adds are so few this week, I’ll mention an earlier omission, Hazardous History with Henry Winkler, a 2025 docu-series from the History Channel. In this humorous series, Henry Winkler guides us through any number of risky businesses, with titles like Very Extreme Sports, or Precarious products, that have ended catastrophically. There’s also Spectacular Stunts, where daredevils have gone a bit too far, and Food Fiascos, dealing with products people were once allowed, or even encouraged, to eat. In all, there are 8 episodes, in this series that gets an incredible 7.9/10 on IMDb. And Stephanie Morgan of Common Sense Media said “each episode of is packed with crazy tales, and Henry Winkler‘s delivery adds a layer of warmth and fun, making this a binge-worthy pick for curious minds.” So I’m watching. And, finally, Hulu has Descendent, a 2025 sci-fi thriller. This finds expectant father Sean Bruner(Ross Marquand), already dealing with anxiety and childhood trauma while living in L.A., but then, one night while working as a security guard, he sees bright lights in the sky. when he wakens in the hospital, he has an ability to draw vivid drawings of aliens, and an obsession with alien abduction. And as his wife’s due date draws near, Sean‘s anxiety over an alien invasion overwhelm his life, and his ability to support his family or himself comes into question. Sarah Bolger, Charlene Amoia, Alexandra Barreto, and Georgia Bishop also star, and Peter Cilella directed. And this movie gets an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, and John Serba of the Decider said it’s “admirable for being a small, low-budget film making the most, and maybe a bit more, out of very little.” But you know it’s too scary for me.
NETFLIX
Netflix has added Dead Man’s Wire, a 2025 crime drama. Based on a true incident in the 70′s, this finds real-estate developer Tony Kiritsis(Bill Skarsgård) underwater, when he’s late on his mortgage payments. But Netflix has also season 2 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the 2026 British thriller series. This season finds Pip(Emma Myers) done with murder investigation and podcasts, after the havoc wrought on her life and family by the Andie Bell case. And this series gets an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Jasmeet Singh of Collider says season 2 is “an even darker, stronger mystery thriller adaptation” than season 1. So I’m tuning in. Netflix also offers season 2 of Murder Mindfully, a 2026 German comedy/thriller series. This season we find Björn Diemel(Tom Schilling) in therapy with Joschka Breitner (Peter Jordan), after his wife Katerina threatens to leave him. But while Björn confides in his therapist about his anger issues, he fails to mention how some of his episodes end lethally, or his career in organized crime. And so, while Breitner urges Björn to capture his inner child, he has no idea that his patient may only use his advice to aid his criminal career. When food researcher, Song(Chanidapa Sommitthanakul), has a one night stand with someone she meets in a bar, she insists on no strings attached. But Piang (Namwan Natchaya Vongbut), wants somethings more, and pursues Song relentlessly. And then Song finds that Piang is destined to be in her life in the future, as she is her bosses daughter. Fay Apisara Lertwisettheerakul, Sirinart Sugandharat and Duangjai Hathaikarn also star, and there is one episode available now, with the second dropping on Thursday. And this series gets a whopping 7.8/10 on IMDb, so, though I can find few online reviews as yet, it’s on my list. And, finally, Netflix has added A Foggy Tale, a 2025 Taiwanese historical drama. This takes place during the 1950‘s, during the White Terror period in Taiwan, when the Kuomintang government ruthlessly repressed any political dissidents in fear of infiltration by the Chinese Communist Party. Luckily, cab driver, Chao Kung-tao(Will Or), takes pity on her, and he decides to gamble to win the money she needs. But that may not be all that standing in the way of the young woman’s pursuit. Amazon has one big add this week with Spider-Noir, a 2026 action series. This takes place in 1930’s NYC, where private eye Ben Reilly(Nicolas Cage!) lives and solves crimes. But when he’s asked to find a missing man, and he finds that man has super powers, Ben finds himself drawn back into his old life. And as the villains descend on the city, he must decide whether to don his old spider suit, or let the bad guys eat the city alive. Karen Rodriguez, Lamorne Morris, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson(!) also star, and there are 8 episodes available now. And this series gets a shocking 8.2/10 on IMDb, and Lucy Mangan of the Guardian says “more clues, more characters, more hidden abilities and more plot twists are served up — and if none is brilliantly innovative, the whole is fast enough and fun enough to get away with it.” So I’m watching. Amazon also offers Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1, a 2024 Western drama. This takes place in 1858, with Americans in the west, seeking to avoid the looming Civil War. In Arizona, white people seek to establish the city of Horizon, while some of Arizona’s original citizens, e.g. the Apaches, strenuously disagree, and so the area is riven by violence. Here, Edo period samurai Shinzaemon Kosaka (Makiya Yamaguchi) is suddenly transported through time, to a present day TV studio, shooting a samurai series. But, though Kosaka is a hit as a samurai extra, he has great difficulty adapting to modern day practices. And he manages to offend quite a few people, including production assistant Yuko (Yuno Sakura). And when he lands a major role, it could bring the company more trouble than they realize. And it gets a stunning 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Ross McIndoe of Slant Magazine said it “isn’t just having fun with fake swords and chonmage wigs, as it also provides a lot of gentle reflections about history, modernity, and our place in it all.” So I’m definitely tuning in.
